I honestly can't believe we have been waiting for 4 months. I find that the time is flying by. Honestly, with having 4 little people around all the time makes for a great distraction!
Over the last month the thing that has stood out the most is how our boys actually get what is going on. I understand that they don't get everything, but when you mention her name something happens to them. The words Zoe Moon do something to them. You can see it in their eyes, better yet you can see it in their heart. Their heart fills up with love and emotion that they don't even know they have. They pray for her. They want her home. They ask for her. They truly love her. They call her sister.
I have this hand painted wooden cut out of Africa, it's about an inch thick. A great friend gave it to me for Christmas. It hangs from a rope and it is on Zoe's Door. It says "you were born in my heart". Well one day Micah asked me what is that shape. I told him it is the same shape that is on our Zoe shirt's. He replies, "Oh it's Africa?" I reply, "yep". He says, "Well can't we just rip it open and take her out of there?" He chuckled and walked off.
I thought about that little passing conversation we had and realized he wants her here as much as I do. He is having to be patient just as I am. He gets it. He really does.
Well, we celebrated the 4 month mark at Sucre. One of my most favorite places!!

I LOVE this post!!! Every detail, Every picture! :)
ReplyDeleteI can't believe it has already been 4 months, really with each month that passes I can't believe it has already been another one.
I think it's so awesome that one day Zoe will fully understand and know that there was a special celebration for her every month while you were waiting to bring her home. Also, one day she will understand that every day not only did her mommy and daddy's heart ached for her but her brothers' did also!
love it!! so when i first read the words "you were born in my heart" i cried. reading those words again on here still makes me cry! i can't even begin to imagine all of the overwhelming emotions you and brian have experienced and will experience through out this next year. i love that you are sharing all of this with everyone!
ReplyDeleteWow! What an update! It is so awesome that your boys are already loving Zoe just like you and Brian are. I think it's cool that y'all always head out for ice cream to celebrate her life even before she gets here. P.S. I love Sucre too!
ReplyDeleteYour Africa/Love icon is perfect!
Hey there! I hopped over from Kelly's blog and saw that you are using AWAA as your agency. We did too, but went to China. So sweet to hear how your kiddos are READY for their sister to be home...NOW. Blessings to you :)
ReplyDeleteThat's amazing! Your boys get it! Love it!
ReplyDeleteOh.My.Gosh! Can I just tell you how BEAUTIFUL your family is!?!?!? Holy cow! And Zoe will add even more beauty! SOOOO great to meet you at the retreat this weekend! :) Let's help one another build an orphan ministry in our churches while we wait for our babes!
